Sensitivity is not really the correct terminology for antigen testing, especially for testing in the field – what you really need to know is the Level of Detection (LoD) as this tells you how many antigens there need to be in a sample, for the test to be able to detect them and give a true positive result.
Because the Know Now™ test uniquely detects the spike protein and the virus is covered in lots of spikes, it has many more chances to detect each virus. That is the reason why the Know Now™ test can detect down to such low levels. The limit of detection is evidenced- to be 5 x 10² PFU/ml, which is 500 virus per ml of saliva.
The sensitivity meanshow well the test correctly detects the presence of the antigen and the KnowNow™ SARS-CoV-2 Rapid Antigen Test has an overall diagnostic sensitivity of 95.6% (95% CI 91.1-98.2%).
The specificity of the KnowNow™ SARS-CoV-2 Rapid Antigen Test is over >99.9% (95%CI : 98.6-100%) (specificity means the number of times the test will correctly identify true negatives, ie no false positives) Independent data evidences our test has not produced any false positives across hundreds of samples, however 100% is not something we would claim – lets just say it’s greater than 99.9%
The KnowNow™️ SARS-CoV-2 Antigen test is pain-free, easy, accurate and reliable. Think mouth, not nose.
Know if you are currently infectious with COVID-19 in just 15 minutes with a simple saliva swab - so no more painful nasal swabs.
The unique proprietary technology means that KnowNow™️ detects the spike protein, which is only present on live virus - so you know a positive result means you have current live infection at the time you are testing.
Because of this unique way it detects only live virus, it is also very well placed to work against current and future mutations.
Invented, developed and manufactured in the UK.
Designed for regular testing, the KnowNow™️ tests are easy to administer accurately and painless to receive.
