The Healgen Rapid COVID-19 Antigen Self-Test is what is now commonly called a Lateral Flow Test (LFT) that simply tells you in minutes if you have current COVID-19 infection.
It requires a shallow, anterior nasal swab (so not nasopharyngeal) and has been validated for both symptomatic and asymptomatic infection
Pack includes 1 of each - test cassette, sterile swab, extraction tube, dropper tip and buffer solution.
What about new variants and Omicron?
The test detects the nucleocapsid protein antigen from SARS-CoV-2 , the virus that causes COVID-19 and can be used to detect the original wild variant of SARS-CoV-2 and all subsequent variants of concern, including Omicron (B.1.1.529), Delta (B.1.617.2), UK (B.1.1.7), South Africa (B.1.351) and Brazil (P.1).
The Healgen Rapid COVID-19 Antigen Self-Test can detect the Omicron Variant because of where the mutation is located on the virus. The nucleocapsid protein that is found in the cell wall (envelope) can be detected by the test.

What is Specificity?
Clinical specificity means how reliably your test will give you a true negative result if you do not have not detectable levels of nucleocapsid protein from the SARS-CoV-2 in your nasal swab sample.
